FineMolds 1/350 IJN Destroyer Akebono

FineMolds continues to replicate the individual vessels of the Fubuki-class of destroyers.

The first of the two latest releases is the Akebono.

The Akebono is the 18th ship of the 24 special Fbki class destroyers built, and the 8th ship of the Type II version of these ships.

Upon service entry in 1931, the Akebono was deployed for the first Shanghai incident and participated in the Hangzhou Bay landing operation during the Sino-Japanese war.

The Akebono susbseqently took part in the Battle of Surabaya, the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Leyte, amongst other operations.

The Akebono survived all of these actions, and this model depicts this vessel as she appeared in 144 with additional AA guns added.
